Marks and Spencer has begun its search for a presenter for its online TV channel, working alongside video agency Adjust Your Set to manage the competition.

Hopefuls are being asked to submit their audition videos to a dedicated page, developed by Adjust Your Set, explaining what they love about Marks and Spencer.

An initial roadshow will tour cities across the UK, including Liverpool, Newcastle and London shopping centres, allowing customers to film their videos to enter.

A shortlist of 10 finalists will be compiled, who will be showcased on the competition website, with further film challenges posed to allow them to prove their presenting skills.

A public vote will then choose their top three, with the winner being announced on 23 November, and handed a contract to appear as the presenter of the channel, while also winning to tickets to the final of the X Factor and will interview the M&S X Factor stylist Kate Halfpenny.

Chris Gorell Barnes, CEO of Adjust Your Set, commented: “Everyone loves something about Marks and Spencer. M&S TV Presents… taps into this customer loyalty by allowing a real-life M&S customer, already passionate about the retailer, to tell the brand stories and drive conversation. The success of M&S TV has built a loyal online following and we’re excited to see where this will lead the multichannel brand.”

Kamlesh Raichura, head of online marketing & CRM at Marks & Spencer, added: “Our ‘M&S TV Presents…’ campaign is a great multichannel competition, with customers submitting their entries by video on our website or at our store roadshow. At the end, one customer wins the unique opportunity to both see M&S behind the scenes and to present to our customers on the M&S TV channel.”
