David Cameron could be the first incumbent Prime Minister to find himself subject to parody in a television sitcom after producers Quail Television floated the idea of ‘At Home With Dave’ to UK broadcasters.

It follows Quails’s attempt to lampoon the Austarlian Pm by depicting her cavorting with her partner draped in the national flag.

Producers Rick Kalowski, creative director of Quail Television, think that the theme would readily transplant to Downing Street: "The format is about the balancing of professional and personal life and that applies to different leaders and circumstances.

"In the English version you have Cameron's wife, Samantha, who comes from a very affluent background but has to live in this pokey accommodation. The comedy also comes from the tensions between Cameron and Clegg power-sharing in No 10."
