The Times named Media Brand of the Year at 2011 Fresh Awards

The Times Newspapers were named as Media Brand of the Year at last night’s Fresh Awards in Manchester.

The awards, held at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford, also saw the Grand Prix awarded to BJL Group for its museum exhibition ‘Art in Advertising’ and Feather Brooksbank pick up a gold award in the Media Agency category.

Feather Brooksbank also won gold in the Media Response category and the Strategic Planning or Campaign section.

CBS Outdoor won gold in the Media Idea or Innovation category

The Ambient category saw Golds awarded to Big Communications and BJL for The Lowry and drivemycarhome.co.uk respectively, while The Chase and picked up gold in the Direct Mail section for BBC Wildlife Fund work, as did McCann Erickson Birmingham for its Harley Davidson work.

Self promotion also saw a Gold awarded given to McCann Erickson Birmingham, which also won in the Charity section alongside BJL and The Chase.

BJL took five gold awards in total, while McCann Erickson Birmingham took 8 gold awards, including Recruitment and the Idea that Never Made it category.

The Chase also won Gold in the brand identity category for its work with D&AD, as well as winning the Evolution Green Design Award on then night.
