A limited edition bottle of Olmeca tequila has been commissioned by Pernod Ricard, designed by Coley Porter Bell and DJ Ferry Corsten.

Corsten’s brief for the design was to create a ‘cool’, and ‘contemporary’ bottle that would communicate his electronic dance music.

Several responses were presented to Corsten, which were then modified under his direction.

The final design is a matt-black bottle with a holographic label that glimmers under club lights, which aims to achieve stand out within a dark club bar.

Both the Olmeca and Ferry Corsten brand logos appear on the lebel.

“It was fantastic working with a creative person from another field,” said Stuart Humm, senior designer at Coley Porter Bell.

“Ferry Corsten may not be a graphic designer, but he was very clear about what he wanted and in his directions. It was a great collaboration.”

To promote the launch of the bottle, a competition ‘Be the DJ’ will aim to find the world’s best undiscovered DJs and producers, with fans being invited to remix Ferry’s last single.

Winners of the competition will join DJ School, led by Corsten.
