The web platform for Axis, the contemporary art radar that features a directory of professional artists and curators, is to be developed by Fuse8.

The UX team at Fuse8 will overhaul and redevelop the platform over the coming months, with the aim of increasing the audience and level of user engagement received by Axis.

The agency will also aim to make the website a ‘more enjoyable experience’ for users.

Fuse8 recently completed another online project for Axis when it worked on the Art in Yorkshire website and iPhone app.

Kevin Charlton, digital creative director at fuse8, said: “Having worked with Axis on the Art in Yorkshire project, we are looking forward to developing our ideas into the finished product. The opportunity to create an immersive user experience for all those involved in contemporary art is a really exciting one, and we can’t wait to get started.”

The new website will launch sometime in 2012.
