South West brewery and pub operator, Bath Ales, has appointed Bristol-based communication and PR agency, Inside Media to handle its first-ever Public Relations campaign.

Inside Media will aim to raise the profile of the brewery, its beer brands and pubs through strategic PR initiatives that complement the social media marketing practices it has already established.

It is the first-time the independent brewery, based between Bath and Bristol, has retained a PR agency and marks a step-change in its communications.

Simon Russell for Inside Media said: “Bath Ales are a success story with enormous potential. That matched with the quality of what they do makes this very exciting for us.

“The cask beer market is in strong growth thanks to new and innovative businesses like Bath Ales – we are delighted to be working with them.”

Inside Media previously worked with Sharp’s Brewery for a number of years, which it supported with consumer and trade PR, until its acquisition by Molson Coors early in 2011.

Roger Jones, Bath Ales’ managing director, comments: “We are a dynamic business and plan to make a major investment in the brewery and retail operations in the next 12 months. Now we are ready to kick on and grow the business outside its South West heartland into the South East, Midlands and beyond.

“We aim to continue to build our reputation with both retailers and consumers. And, of course, we would love Gem, our flagship ale, to become a leading national cask and bottle beer brand.”
