Samsung is to release a phone which can be rolled up or bent like a wristwatch next year after developing a flexible AMOLED display.

Samsung Galaxy Skin will be capable of being shaped around a cylinder just 1 inch in diameter and boasts an ‘unbreakable’ screen said able to withstand “blows from a hammer”.

This will allow the phone to be configured as a wristwatch, mouse, clock or dashboard GPS.

Developed by Prof Haeseong Jee and Jye Yeon You the phone benefits from the remarkable properties of grapheme – the strongest material in the world and up to 200 times stronger than structural steel.

The device will sport a high resolution screen and 1.2GHz processor when it goes on sale in 2012.
