Simon Cowell looks at developing new cookery show
Simon Cowell is looking down under for inspiration for his latest TV venture – a series based on MasterChef Australia.
The Aussie version of the hit BBC format has become the most successful in the world, beating Cowell's own Australia’s Got Talent during a 2009 ratings battle.
Cowell’s interpretation of the show will attempt to draw in the top names in cooking to serve judge wannabe cooks when production starts next year.
A source at Cowell’s Syco production studio told The Sun; “Si's aim is always to have the most-watched show and he has seen how popular these food series have been.
"He's also a big fan of home cooking and likes the idea of offering the opportunity of a lifetime to someone with a passion for food. He's been thinking of branching out from music and variety shows for a while.”
