Priority Exhibitions is working to implement an events strategy for environmental product and service provider Nederman, which involved creating a stand and undertaking a PR and social media campaign.

For the stand, Priority worked with marketing communications agency Hidden Creative to create augmented reality (AR) content that attracts delegates and increases dwell time.

The system was first showcased at the Recycling & Waste Management event earlier this month.

Joe Ashton, senior project manager at Priority Exhibitions, said: “Extending your presence at trade exhibitions is now a crucial factor in the success of exhibiting. Augmented reality is a strong way to attract visitors and is a superb communication aid to help those manning a stand to explain the benefits and features of complex product propositions.

“Not only does the exhibition stand need to work harder to attract visitors and keep them on the stand. The PR and marketing around the event should tap into social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn groups, as well as trying to take advantage of Google search traffic. There is a huge online conversation that now accompanies most events and it is essential that businesses take part and sometimes lead the discussions.”
