Facebook still king of social networks, despite Twitter growth, research claims

A new report has found that Facebook is still the largest social networking site, despite growth by Twitter over the last year.

The report by comScore, entitled ‘The Rise of Social Networking in Latin America’ has studies the popularity of both websites in the region, while also offering an overview of the social networking sector around the world.

According to the Independent, the report says that in June 2011, 734.2m people visited Facebook, a rise of 22% on the previous year, while 144,4 million unique visitors visited Twitter – growth of 56%.
