Australian PM Julia Gillard has said that she “won’t be watching” a controversial sex scene to be aired by the Australian Broadcasting Corp in which she is depicted having sex on her office floor by a comedy double.

“At Home with Julia” is a satirical series depicting the life of the Prime Minister – but has been roundly condemned for its disrespect to the flag and the post of PM.

Speaking to Nine Network television Gillard said: “I won't be watching it and I'm not intending to comment on it," Gillard told Nine Network television early on Wednesday. I've got some bigger things on my mind."

Gillard had initially supported the production by opening up her Canberra home for filming and was an avid viewer of early episodes.

Defending their broadcast ABC said in a statement: "If it's OK for others to drape themselves in our flag for all manner of occasions, we really don't see why it can't be draped over our prime minister as a symbol of love.”
