The first bilingual Scottish charts show on commercial radio to be broadcast in both English and Gaelic was launched at the weekend.

The show was a collaborative project between MG ALBA, the Gaelic Media Service, and Inverness-based Moray Firth Radio (MFR), which will also produce a charts show for other commercial stations outwith its area, which includes the Highlands, Moray and parts of Aberdeenshire.

The station’s chart will showcase current hit songs but will also be forging an important link with the Gaelic language, with presenters Davey D and Roya McLean.

MFR is available on 97.4FM, 1107AM, DAB digital radio, smart-phone apps as well as through the online listen live function.
