Fresh from a 20 hour assault on Kabul’s diplomatic quarter the Taliban are taking their fight into the realm of social media with a war of words erupting between a Taliban spokesman and his counterpart in the Isaf press office.

Responding to a Taliban tweet the media office of the International Security Assistance Force tweeted: “Re: Taliban spox on #Kabul attack: the outcome is inevitable. Question is how much longer will terrorist put innocent Afghans in harm's way?"

To this Taliban tweeter Abdulqahar Balk (@ABalkhi) responded: "@ISAFmedia i dnt knw.u hve bn pttng thm n 'harm's way' fr da pst 10 yrs.Razd whole vllgs n mrkts.n stil hv da nrve to tlk bout 'harm's way'"

Unfazed, Isaf responded: “Really, @abalkhi? UNAMA reported 80% of civilians causalities are caused by insurgent (your) activities http://goo.gl/FylwU”

But Balk, who has 750 followers, pointed out: “@ISAFmedia UNAMA is an entity of whom? mine or yours?”
