Glasgow's Social Media Week will officially get underway on Monday with a talk from humanitarian and award-winning filmmaker Jeremy Gilley.

His 'Peace One Day' event (10am at Skypark) will explore how the idea of a global Peace Day became a reality and how he is now using social media to take it to the next level.

Fiona Hyslop MSP will formally launch Social Media Week Glasgow with an evening talk on the importance of social media and digital fragmentation for the Scottish Government.

SMW11 takes place 19-23rd September in cities around the world including Glasgow, Berlin, Chicago, Los Angeles and Moscow.

The Glasgow events are organised by twintangibles and New Media Corp, sponsored by Equator and supported by Creative Scotland.

You can see the full programme on the Social Media Week website.
