Lacoste seeks to bar Norwegian mass murderer from wearing its brand
French clothing brand Lacoste has approached Norwegian police in an effort to prevent mass murderer Andres Brevik from donning its wares in court – according to reports in the Norwegian press.
Brevik killed 77 people during twin bomb and gun attacks in Norway in July and has been a regular in court since as authorities consider sentencing.
During these appearances Brevik, who reportedly said that Lacoste is his favourite brand, has been snapped wearing the labelled garments – including a red Lacoste jumper and a black Lacoste sweater.
Lacoste declined to comment on the reports but they echo that of US brand Abercrombie and Fitch which reportedly offered to pay the cast of MTV reality show Jersey Shore, not to wear its brand.
