Edinburgh Council to tender for event management company for 2012 Christmas events

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a company to help it manage and deliver its Christmas events.

The council will appoint a company to manage a range of services including design, co-ordination and delivery of its events next year.

Edinburgh Christmas events will take place in the city centre over a six week period from the fourth Thursday in November 2012 through to the 6 January 2013.

The one-year-contract will see the successful applicant tasked with delivering aspects of site management and equipment supply, co-ordination of sub-contractor relationships and management, as well as design and delivery of key events, including Light Night opening of East Princes Street Gardens and the switching on of the Christmas Lights, The Nativity Carol Service, Santa Weekend, all East Princes Street Garden activities and more.

The budget, including management fee, is between £600,000 and £800,000.

Five companies are expected to tender for the contract with expressions of interest expected by 4 October.
