Lloydspharmacy is launching a direct marketing campaign to promote its Substance Misuse Service to Drug and Alcohol Action Teams.

DAATs were established by the government to deliver local action on subtance abuse and aim to protect families and communities from the harm drugs can cause.

This campaign, created by TDA, highlights the services Lloydspharmacy offers to these teams including Heptatitis B and C screening, vaccinations, needle exchange and alcohol services.

It includes direct mail, email and banners on the pharmacy's B2B website and aims to strike an emphathetic tone with the teams' under-pressure staff.

"DAATs have a difficult balancing act to achieve - their case loads are getting heavier and their budgets are being reduced," said Peter Wilton, head of brand and marketing communications at Lloydspharmacy.

"We want to relieve some of this pressure by offering enhanced services that make it easier for them to achieve Government targets and, more importantly, to provide better care for the people who need it most."
