Keith Beech, managing editor of BBC WM is to leave the organisation after 22 years with the corporation.

According to Radio Today, the 46-year old will be leaving at the end of September to join a PR firm in London.

Beech, from Wolverhampton, told the Birmingham Post: “I am really proud to have worked for the BBC for the past two decades. I couldn’t have asked for more than the opportunity to run the radio station that broadcasts to the area that I call home.

“It’s been a terrific challenge and I’m hugely proud to have worked with talented people who share my passion for the West Midlands.”

The BBC has yet to announce a successor.
