Beyonce breaks Twitter record with MTV pregnancy reveal
Beyonce has stolen the show at this year’s MTV music video awards after using the occasion to announce her pregnancy to the thronging press.
Posing for the cameras the singer informed assembled paparazzi that she has a surprise for them, before outlining a tell-tale bump under her gown.
For the avoidance of doubt the R&B star went on to say: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me” before rubbing her belly during an on stage performance.
Also in attendance at the event was Jay-Z, Beyonce’s rap star husband.
The surprise announcement saw Twitter sent into a frenzy with Twitter reporting a record 8,868 tweets per second as the announcement was made.
The stunt saw the singer hog the headlines from the big winners of the night, out-doing even Lady Gaga’s attention grabber of turning up dressed as a male alter ego.
