Cheap iPhone4 rumoured to arrive “within weeks”
Apple’s long rumoured autumn update to its flagship iPhone line could commence in as little as a few weeks – according to reports from Reuters.
The news agency reports that the technology firm is readying a cut price 8GB version of the iPhone4 for release “within weeks”.
Apple’s embrace of cloud computing is believed to be making lower memory devices more attractive to users and the resultant lower costs will enable the firm to target the lucrative middle ground of the smartphone market.
This timeline gels with the widely expected announcement of the iPhone5 which many believe will be launched around late September or early October.
This will likely include the same A5 processor which powers the iPad2, an improved camera and a larger screen.
