A new TV advertising campaign has begun for WKD, the brand’s first for three years.
The campaign, which launched last week during Celebrity Big Brother’s first episode on Channel 5, continued the ‘Have you got a WKD side?’ theme, written by Big Communications creative team Craig Buzzel and Richard Davis and directed by Jon Greenhalgh from Short Films.
Debs Carter, marketing director for WKD, commented: “Research consistently tells us that WKD ads have higher cut-through levels than some of the higher spending brands. We are really excited to have a new ad that we’re sure our target audience will engage with”.
Dylan Bogg, Big’s CEO and executive creative director, commented: “The new WKD ad continues a long line of excellent TV advertising for the brand in a campaign that proves its effectiveness time after time.”
Supporting the campaign will be a Facebook page which will feature fans of the brand, which is part of a competition that was launched prior to filming.

If only Carlsberg made pubs like that!!
A nice idea let down again, presumably, by a small budget that could only stretch to unconvincing actors and a director who doesn't seem to understand the subtleties that turn something average into something funny.
I rather like it. Streets ahead of the stuff they were putting out last time they were on TV, which basically said - it's quite funny and laddish to treat women like crap. this one at least has a bit of wit about it.
When i first saw this, I thought Hale and Pace had started a career in advertising. Lame gag. Need a new direction.
This is perfect for the brand and target audience. Anon 14.50 there's plenty big budget stuff out there that is complete wallpaper at least it gives you a laugh
Decent idea - execution wasn't brilliant, but it's not bad.
yer it's pretty good - think it will do an ok job - anonymous 14:50 don't take everything so serious , go let your hair down you chopper.

My missus liked it and she's more likely to drink the stuff. Who's the pint for? Confident move or continuity cock up?
@Anons 21:10 & 08:53
14:50 here. 21:10, I agree, there's lots of crap stuff done with a big budget. There's also lots of fantastic stuff done with a big budget. And some good stuff done with a small budget.
And 08:53, do you see any irony in telling me to relax, then hurling insults?
This is a good idea that could have been executed better. I see I'm not the only person to have said it here. What upsets you both so much about this opinion?
mostly because I wanted you to rise to the bait and put a smile on my face, but also because your repartee made me sigh like when you hear an old song that made you weary the first time you came across it.
I see. Well done you.

I think any "blokes" who would willingly choose a bottle of "WKD" rather than a decent pint, should bloomin' well stay at home with their "missus" and stop cluttering up our pubs!!
