Technology lifestyle brand, T3, is to run a series of sponsored features on the technology behind the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The year-long series, sponsored by Garmin, will be published across T3’s print and tablet editions and will examine the kit behind the UK ’s biggest ever sporting occasion, and what will be the most technologically advanced games ever.

Each month will focus on a different event, from swimming and cycling to sailing and the marathon, revealing the kit and tech that powers the athletes in training and at events.

In each issue mobile navigation experts, Garmin, will recommend an appropriate product for the featured sport in each issue.

The first is the FORERUNNER 310XT, a GPS-enabled, waterproof watch that can be bike or wrist mounted for each section of the Triathlon, and tracks and transfers data wirelessly to your computer for analysis.

“Garmin and T3 make for an excellent brand fit in this unique series,” commented Charlie Said, senior ad manager for Future’s Technology Division.

“As sports have become more competitive, the need for better equipment and more advanced technology has increased, making this a fantastic series for T3 to host over the next 12 months. The partnership allows Garmin to reach T3’s audience of influential technology advocates and early adopters and suggest suitable products and kit using motivating editorial.”

Anthony Chmarny, Head of PR at Garmin, commented that the features suit the company’s overall PR communications strategy for its products and believes the balance between real editorial content and sponsorship works well.
