Bristol 24-7 Digital Marketing, which is part of the Bristol 24-7 group of media companies, has been appointed by the British Empire & Commonwealth Museum to design a special new website aimed at schools and colleges across the UK.

The museum, formerly housed at Temple Meads in Bristol, is now relocating to London to secure its long-term future, and to reach a larger international audience.

“Bristol24-7 has been brought in to design a special new website aimed at schools and colleges across the UK,” explained managing director Chris Brown.

“From this site, teachers will be able to access some of the best education resources from the museum - all online - so that they can teach their classes the history of the empire and the Commonwealth.”

The move to London is in line with the Museum’s long term plans to become a leading international centre for the learning, research and understanding of Britain’s colonial past. It is the first and only Museum in the world to explore the history of the British Empire and its emergence into today’s Commonwealth, and has been widely praised for tackling contested and controversial histories.

The site is set to go live at the start of September.
