Bloomberg Businessweek has appointed Alan Bone as head of international circulation, a newly-created role based in London.

Bone, who joins from Newsweek/Daily Beast Company where he was general manager of Newsweek magazine, will be responsible for driving Bloomberg Businessweek's circulation in EMEA and Asian markets.

When he starts on September 19 Bone will play "a central role" in launching Bloomberg Businessweek's two new regional editions in Europe and Asia, the company said.

He will report to head of worldwide circulation, Alec Casey, who said: "As we continue to focus on expanding our global reach and influence, Alan's experience will be vital to our success.”
