STV is to auction off the sofa that features on its daily early evening programme The Hour to raise funds for charity.

The sofa, which has hosted such famous posteriors as Lenny Henry, Tony Hadley, JLA, Dom Joly and Westlife, will be auction to raise money for this year’s STV Appeal.

Auctioneer Anita Manning will oversee the auction at the Barras Market on Sunday 14 August between 1.30pm and 3pm.

Tom Cara, Series producer of The Hour, said: “We’ve had some truly famous bottoms perched upon this stylish sofa so it’s a brilliant buy. Everyone at STV is getting involved with the STV Appeal, to help raise money for children living in poverty across the country, and we hope that The Hour sofa will rake in the pounds. It’s also a lovely looking and comfortable couch so I’m sure it’ll be a great addition to any lounge!”

The auction will be filmed by STV and air as part of the Appeal programming in September.
