AccountingWEB has been relaunched on a more powerful technology platform in order to accommodate new social networking features.

The move follows research by the website’s publisher, Bristol-based Sift Media, which reveals that AccountingWEB has the most active on social networks and blogs of any of its titles.

The site has 105,000 registered members; users make 5,100 forum posts and view 39,000 blog posts each month.

“We’ve always known it to be a myth that accountants are dull and we’re delighted that our members have proved just how social they are by engaging with one another online in a way that very few other professions do,” said AccountingWEB deputy editor, Rob Lovell.

“Our new site will not only continue to provide the latest industry news and analysis, it will reflect today’s demand for more social features and we’re sure the site will serve to further increase the profile of accountants online”.

The new look site has been built in consultation with AccountingWEB community members and Sift Media has pointed to this input as key to the future success of the community.
