US magazine publisher Time Inc has claimed it will be the first major publisher to produce tablet versions of all its titles before the year is out.

The accolade was cited just as an agreement with book retailer Barnes & Noble was signed. This will see the store sell digital subscriptions and single copy issues on the retailers own tablet, Nook Color.

Time, Fortune, People and Sports Illustrated will be the first of the publishers 21 titles to appear on the platform, with the remainder following before the 2011 concludes.

Time Inc executive Maurice Edelson said: "Now is the time for us to make this bold commitment. In the coming year, there will clearly be many more consumers using tablets, accelerating demand for content and driving advertiser interest."
