With less than a week to go until the official deadline for entering MiAwards 2011, MiNetwork's MD Richard Draycott is urging all MiNetwork members to make sure they get what they are entitled to with their free entries.

The UK-wide marketing awards scheme is open to members and non-members of MiNetwork and aims to recognise excellence in marketing and excellence in the business of marketing with a host of new strategic award categories being added this year.

As part of their membership benefits, all Corporate MiNetwork members receive two free MiAward entries, while MiNetwork’s Elite members receive up to 10 free entries.

The MiAwards categories offer agencies the opportunity to show what a strong marketing business they are running and also how good they are at devising, developing and delivering marketing campaigns across a range of sectors. New categories this year include Best Retail Strategy, Best Financial Services Strategy, Best Social Media Strategy, Best Consumer Insight and Best Mobile Marketing Strategy.

A new Lifetime Achievement Award has also been introduced to recognise an individual who has contributed something special to the marketing and media industry during their careers.

A new judging panel has also been signed up, which includes Warburton’s marketing director Richard Hayes, Royal Mail marketing manager Angus Morrison, Red Letter Days marketing director Nick Button, Metro Newspaper’s creative planning director Sophie Robinson, digital marketing manager at OCR Michelle Hughes and Jacquie o’Beirne, digital marketing manager at The Dogs Trust. These clients will be joined by judges with substantial agency experience such as former McCann-Erickson CEO Brian Child, former CEO of DDB Peter Croome, Joel Davis of social media specialists Agency2 and Gordon Brown of Circuit Break.

All entries can be made online through the MiAwards website, so if you haven’t registered then register today and browse the categories.

Richard Draycott, managing director of MiNetwork, said: “We have some fantastic marketers on the judging panel this year, so it’s a great opportunity for entrants to get their business credentials directly in front of clients such as Warburtons, Metro Newspaper, Red Letter Days and The Royal Mail.

“Last year’s MiAwards event was very special and was a fantastic place for MiNetwork members to meet face to face and get to know each other better. There was a real community feel to the event and it really brought our network of agencies to life in a dynamic way. We have a few surprises planned again for this year’s event, so make sure you don’t miss out and get your entries in before the deadline.”

The gala awards dinner takes place on Thursday 17th November at the Ramada Jarvis Manchester and like last year promises something special to make it an awards night to remember. To see last year's photo gallery click here.
