Public wi-fi provider The Cloud has appointed Harvard to help promote partnerships and persuade more companies to sign up.

The Cloud, which was bought over by BSkyB in January, is trying to create partnerships with various retailers around the UK.

In the contract, which will mainly involve b2b work but may also include some consumer PR, Harvard will be expected to promote The Cloud’s business tie-ins with companies such as McDonald’s, O2 and Pret to both an IT and marketing audience.

Louie St Claire, Harvard’s MD, told PR Week: “We’re starting by promoting The Cloud’s contract with Pizza Express, which uses its wi-fi in all its restaurants and has an app that allows customers to browse menus and order food.”

The Pizza Express contract for The Cloud was announced in June.
