Zappia to become chief executive of Sky Italia

Andrea Zappia, managing director of BSkyB’s customer group, has been named as Tom Mockridge’s successor as chief executive of Sky Italia.

Zappia, who currently heads up the sales, marketing and customer operations teams at BSkyB, will return to Sky Italia to take over from Mockridge, who became chief executive of News International following the resignation of Rebekah Brooks last month.

Zappia previously spent seven years at Sky Italia, rising to the position of vice president, Sports Channels. He also worked under Mockridge as vice president, marketing, promotiona and business development at Sky Italia.
