Sky Sports will not run adverts during coverage of F1 racing when it begins next year.

The broadcaster has confirmed to Autosport, that it would not interrupt coverage for adverts which frustrated viewers during ITV’s coverage of the sport in the 90’s.

A spokesperson for Sky Sports told AUTOSPORT: "We won't have adverts while the races are running. We know they were very unpopular in the past and we don't have to go down that route."

It is also reported that Sky does not plan to introduce pay-per-view viewing for the sport, having announced this morning that it has picked up the rights to broadcast the sport, with the BBC continuing to show some live races, including the final race of the season, as well as highlights.
