Former IPA director general Hamish Pringle becomes strategic adviser to 23red

Marketing services agency 23red has appointed for Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) director general Hamish Pringle as a strategic adviser.

Pringle, who stepped down from his role at the IPA last month after ten year, will take up the role in advising the agency’s new offering, which it has dubbed ‘Great Good’.

The agency aims to educate brands and business on how to best leverage their behavior as part of their marketing.

Pringle commented: "I first got to know Jane [Asscher, chairman and managing partner of 23red] when she got heavily involved in the IPA/ISBA/CIPS 'Value Framework Initiative' which led to the highly regarded 'Magic and Logic' best practice publications. I was most impressed with Jane's contribution and we've stayed in contact ever since through her membership of the IPA Council. When I announced that I was standing down from the IPA role 23red were one of the first companies to get in touch and I'm delighted to have been appointed as their strategic advisor by Jane and her business partners. "

Asscher added: "We have ambitious growth plans for our agency and we took a decision last year to recruit a senior strategic advisor to play a key role in developing our proposition to clients and help us take our business to the next level. In Hamish we've found someone whose expertise across a very wide range of markets and current understanding of what clients want from an agency will be of great value to us. Given our agency profile we're especially interested in his thinking on cause related marketing, corporate social responsibility, employer branding, the use of celebrities and the demonstration of return on marketing investment. Recent events have shown how crucial it is to manage a brand’s reputation in every channel and Hamish will enhance 23red’s ability to help senior management deal effectively with the new era of corporate transparency."
