The Daily Record teams with Rangers Football Club

The Daily Record is to show a live Champions League qualifier game on its website this evening – a first for a UK newspaper.

The game – Rangers versus Swedish side Malmo – will be played at Ibrox and will also be aired on Rangerstv.tv.

It has been said that showing the game on the Daily Record website - which is to be available just for fans outside UK, Ireland and Sweden.

Overseas supporters can sign up to watch the match live on the Daily Record website on a pay-per-view basis - priced $9.5.

Ali Russell, Rangers chief operating officer, said: “Once again Rangers are leading the way in the digital media field and we are delighted to team up with the Daily Record to provide our overseas supporters with live coverage of the Malmo game.

“Our ground-breaking live UK coverage of the Hearts game on RangersTV.tv was a huge success and our global fanbase will be able to watch our crucial Champions League qualifier on our internet TV station and the Daily Record website.”
