Combatative business honcho Alan Sugar has taken to Twitter to accuse a Conservative MP of abusing parliamentary privilege whilst giving evidence at a commons committee hearing on the phone hacking scandal.

Louise Mensch incorrectly stated that Piers Morgan had admitted hacking into celebrities phones during his stint at the Daily Mirror during the hearing.

Mensch refused to repeat the claims outside the hearing as without parliamentary privilege she would be exposed to litigation.

Sugar tweeted: “Louise Mensch should be fired by Cameron for abuse of parliamentary privilege. Last night on Newsnight shown to be a liar. Media Wannabe".

Sugar, a prominent Labour supporter, then engaged in a two hour long twitter tussle with Mensch after the Corby MP asked Sugar to apologise for discouraging em0ployment of expectant mums.
