The Women’s World Cup final on Sunday apparently saw a record broken with the largest number of tweets sent during the match.

According to Experian Hitwise, an average of 7,196 tweets were posted each second during the match, which was eventually won by Japan on penalties.

This previous record was set on News Year’s Even in 2010 in Japan with 6,939 tweets per second being sent.
