Bath-based special interest media group, Future, has announced that it is proposing to reorganise some of its editorial operations to share skills and resources and work as hub systems.

The news follows a report in MCV last week alleging that a memo had been leaked stating that 10% of Future staff were to be made redundant.

Speaking to The Drum, Future spokesman said:

“I can confirm that Future has recently undertaken an operational review in order to refocus the way we operate, streamline activities and achieve more efficiencies wherever we can.

“We have identified synergy savings and efficiencies in ways of working across the business. We are proposing a reorganisation of some editorial operations and move towards hub systems, sharing skills and resources.

“We are entering into a process of consultation with staff and we will not be commenting further until that consultation is complete.”

News of the consultation follows a difficult period for Future, which culminated in Friday’s interim management report that announced a 3% year-on-year revenue decline.
