Farrow & Ball, producers of traditional and modern paints and wallpaper, has appointed The Owl Consortium to provide PR support for its new Manchester showroom.

Owl was appointed after a two-way pitch against another, undisclosed Manchester agency.

One of the Owl's first jobs has been to agree a sponsorship deal with Manchester Pride for the 2011 festival’s Big Weekend at the end of August. Farrow & Ball colours will be seen inside the festival’s £90 per ticket VIP marquee.

Owl boss Denise Mullen said: "Not only is the product beautiful, highly desirable and high performance, there is a delightful quirky Englishness that adds to the charm of the brand and demands a response that is a little out of the ordinary.

"I have to confess I’ve been a fan long before pitching for the work. The new showroom, between Deansgate Station and Spinningfields, is absolutely stunning and we are working through a number of concepts to attract more footfall all summer long.”
