Facebook advertising costs rise by 74% survey claims

The cost of Facebook advertising has risen by 74% in the last year according to a report carried out by US social network, TBG Digital.

A story by The Financial Times, claims that the cost per click of an advert on Facebook has risen by nearly three quarters in four of the largest media markets around the world.

Display advertising has risen by 45% in comparison with last year in the UK, France, Germany and the US in the second quarter.

The analysis is based on 200bn ad impressions from 167 clients over the second quarter of 2011.
