Digital consultancy Reading Room is the only UK company left competing for a $1m prize on offer from Tourism Queensland.

The tourism body’s global competition ‘Million Dollar Memo’ will see the winning company’s staff rewarded with a trip to Queensland, as it aims to promote the state as a travel destination.

In order to enter, Reading Room’s ‘Think Big Queensland’ campaign includes a 60-second video entry that features attractions from Queensland at London landmarks.

A Twitter campaign was also devised which would involve the landmarks, but with an ‘Aussie twist’, such as crocodiles swimming along the Thames.

A blooper reel and marking of video were also included.

Margaret Manning, CEO of Reading Room, commented: "Making the top 20 brings us a step closer to the ultimate prize. It’s a fantastic recognition of our team’s creativity and hard work. “If we win, we’ll send our people to share their digital expertise with locals and organisations across the state to show the world Queensland’s where Australia shines”.

Representatives from the agency will now travel to Queensland to compete in an Incentive Challenge Event on 24 August.

The winner will be announced 31 August.
