Scientific consultancy APEM has appointed Admiral PR to handle its public relations.

Stockport-based APEM has worked in aquatic science for over 25 years and conducts field-based operations all over the world.

Admiral's brief is to promote APEM's services, which include habitat surveying and pollution assessment, nationally and internationally.

Oliver Chesher, who heads up the Admiral Manchester office which will handle the account, said: "From protecting water-dwelling wildlife to helping to reduce pollution, APEM will never be short of a story to tell, and we are confident that the PR campaign will help to boost demand for its technical innovations.”

APEM founder Dr Keith Hendry added: "My management team and I are committed to good communications. Whether it be commenting in the news on controversial environmental issues, or taking a TV film crew in a plane to show them our remote sensing technology, we enjoy being positioned as media spokespersons on scientific matters."
