The Guardian may be considering buying office space in New York, as part of an effort to attract more international readers to the newspaper.

This news comes shortly after the announcement that the Guardian will stop printing its international issues this year.

The Guardian is not the only British news publisher to try to attract a more global readership. As the Huffington Post reports, the Daily Mail opened a New York office in February, and BBC Worldwide is working on making its content more suitable for an American audience. This will include repackaging and reformatting London content.

The internet means that a lot of newspapers and other media outlets can now appeal to a much larger demographic, which can be targeted both in the form of content and advertising.
