Sky News has announced that Ed Conway has been appointed as economics editor for Sky News.

The appointment will see Conway join the business unit at the news channel, offering analysis and news on the UK and global economy, working alongside business presenter Jeff Randall, city editor Mark Kleinman, business correspondent Dharshini David and business presenter Joel Hills.

His reports will be included within the Sky News business bulletins, while he will also contribute to Jeff Randall live, while providing coverage of the Chancellor’s Budget and pre-budget report.

Conway has previously held the role of economic editor at The Daily Telegraph and Economics Correspondent at the Daily Mail.

John Ryley, head of Sky News, said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Ed Conway on board. The economic landscape has never been more important to our viewers. Ed has a strong track record for breaking major economic and business stories and I have confidence that he will make a real impact delivering the latest news to our audience with authority, clarity and enthusiasm.’

He will begin his role in August.
