Cornwall-based animators, Spider Eye, has been commissioned by Disney to produce a second series of Jungle Junction.

According to the South West Industry Insider, Disney has now asked Spider Eye Productions to produce another 52 episodes that are each 11 minutes long.

The popular children’s program, which appears on Disney’s Sky channels in both Europe and the US, uses CGI animation and follows the adventures of Zooter, Ellyvan and Bungo, a group of animals on wheels who explore their jungle home.

The series intends to instill an early respect for the environment in preschool age children.

"We created a pilot over ten years ago. We took it around to many broadcasters,” said Morgan Francis, Spider Eye Productions' director.

"We took it to a cartoon forum. A Disney person came to the show looking for ideas and it went on from there."

Spider Eye Productions was first commissioned by Disney in March 2008. The company is also well-known for producing the 2006 KitKat advert, made in the style of children’s book “The Snowman”.

The new episodes will be broadcasting each weekend on Disney Junior.
