The Famous Grouse owner The Edrington Group grows turnover by 18.2%

The Edrington Group has announced an upturn in its group turnover of 18.2% at £553.4m for the last financial year.

The company, which owns brands such as The Famous Grouse, The Macallan and Highland Park, has also reported a rise in pre-tax profits of 19.3% to £141.5m.

According to the year-end-figures, The Famous Grouse has grown by 4%, while The Macallan has also grown by 14% to over 700,000 cases and Highland Park grew by 9%.

The company also acquired Cutty Sark and took ownership of the Maxxium distribution companies in China and Hong Kong which added to its growth which has included the US and UK markets, although it admitted that this has been offset by declines in Greece and Spain.
