One year after it introduced digital charges, News Corporation's Times Newspapers claims it has 101,036 digital subscribers across the web, tablets and e-readers.

Media website journalism.co.uk comments today: "Since the £2 weekly subscription is billed as £8.66 per month, this would seem to give the publisher £874,971 in monthly paid digital revenue."

The Drum asked an Aberdeen subscriber for his opinion on the site, and he responded: "I value getting access to The Times Scottish edition and Sunday Times Scotland on the strength of their editorial content.

"I find the sites for both newspapers very easy to use and very well organised and disciplined - particularly the search facility.

"And I appreciate that I am getting a surpisingly good range of Scottish news and sports stories in The Times - especially on the political front from well informed journalists and commentators - including its Scottish editor, Magnus Linklater, its Scottish political editor Angus Macleod, and freelance Lorraine Davidson.

"And although the Times+ club, which is exclusively for subscribers, is mainly geared for the English and Welsh readers, it does have an admirable choice of exclusive offers and good value competitions."

The Sunday Timed won the Grand Prix at the recent Online Media Awards, an event established in order to recognise the best in online journalism.
