A 100-site, movie-themed outdoor advertising campaign for South Birmingham College has been launched by marketing and communications company Traffic.

The campaign will run across billboards, bus shelters and phone boxes in the city centre and across South Birmingham throughout July and August, accompanied by radio adverts on local stations.

Mark Knight, head of marketing at South Birmingham College, said: “The summer campaign aims to encourage prospective students to take charge of their own destiny by studying at South Birmingham College. To get this message across we wanted to break from the norm of traditional campaigns and create real impact. The campaign is a head-turner and positions us as college where people can improve both their career and lifestyle prospects”.

Adverts feature students set against an action movie-themed backdrop with the line ‘The story of your life – create your own ending’.

Phil Elwell, director at Traffic, said: “This has been a really exciting campaign to work on. With the further education sector becoming increasingly competitive, we wanted to find a theme that would really connect and engage with the audience. The movie genre is instantly recognisable and will encourage prospective students to find out more about summer enrolment both on and offline”.
