Arjowiggins Creative Papers last week launched an exhibition of 'paper creatures', which is being run as part of the New Blood festival of emerging creative talent.

The exhibition showcases the work of designers from 26 countries. They were challenged to create paper creatures that were based on the work of Japanese designer Shin Tanaka, who made his name devising paper toys as a medium for his graffiti.

He was commissioned to design an exclusive paper animal for Arjowiggins, which is called C-Myk (after CMYK), to promote the company's Pop'Set paper range.

The work of those who took up the challenge was then judged by a jury and through an online vote. Some of the work is political or topical, but much of it is simply whimsical.

All of it will be offered for sale with proceeds going to UNESCO's Craft and Design programme, which will help creatives in developing countries access international markets. The exhibition runs until today (July 4).
