Retail workers charity Retail Trust has said that it has seen calls to its Freephone helpline tripe in the last three days.

The helpline has witnessed a 40% increase in calls this month in comparison with the number made last June as a result of a number of High Street retailers including TJ Hughes, Habitat, HomeForm Group, Carpetright, Jane Norman and Thorntons either entering administration or announcing the intentional to close stores across the UK.

The charity has begun to promote its free ReWork Programme which it says is worth over £1,000 and includes a downloadable Resolving Redundancy Guide, personal career coaching, resolving redundancy workshops in London and links to retail recruitment websites.
