GMG radio will today launch a music streaming service for its three brands in partnership with we7.

Real, Smooth and Rock Radio will all be available to listen to on we7’s new online radio platform. This furthers GMG Radio’s plan to provide accessible content from the stations.

GMG Radio already supplies we7 with Real Radio-branded news and entertainment content which has proved popular.

Steve Purdham, CEO of we7 said: “In many countries new digital radio and traditional services are seen as competitive but in reality there are great synergies to be gained by working together. Partnering with forward thinking companies like GMG Radio and their brands Smooth, Real and Rock can mean that together we can expand the overall listening audience.

“The power of great radio stations such as Smooth is its music ‘DNA’ and its personalities. Digital solutions have a long way to go to deliver that heritage. But digital radio is much more than just broadcasting what is being played now, with personalisation and portability becoming important. This is why we feel giving access to the we7 digital radio platform means digital audiences get the best of all worlds, the convenience of cloud based music access and the passion of music from people who understand what audiences like.”
