In a move that looks likely to set it at war with North West Business Insider, Trinity Mirror has launched a new business magazine reviewing the Top 200 businesses in the North West of England.

The glossy 68-page magazine will be a collaborative effort between the publisher's two newspapers The Liverpool Daily Post and Manchester Evening News and will see each business chosen by turnover.

The magazine will feature profiles on each of the companies, as well as an analysis of the main business sectors in the region.

This is the first time that Trinity Mirror has produced a joint publication out of both Liverpool and Manchester and could see it set up against another publication North West Business Insider, published by Newsco Insider.

Mark Thomas, editor of the Liverpool Daily Post, commented: "While Liverpool and Manchester have their own distinct business communities, and there is a deal of healthy rivalry between them, many businesses take a much more regional view. Indeed, many of the biggest businesses have senior executives hot-desking between the two cities.

The magazine is being distributed free this week in the Liverpool Daily Post and to readers of the MEN's weekly business magazine Greater Manchester Businessweek.
